Pour this amazing fluid from one beaker into another, and the entire mass will siphon into the lower beaker on its own.
Poly-Ox: A Self-Siphoning Gel (1/5 lb.)
This polyethylene oxide polymer has a molecular weight of 4,000,000 amu. When a small amount of the white powder is dissolved in water, an extremely viscous, non-Newtonian fluid is formed. This fluid has amazing properties!! It will climb a rotating rod which has been inserted into the mass. If you start to pour it from one beaker into another, the entire mass will siphon into the lower beaker on its own. By adding a fluorescent dye during the dissolving process, these demonstrations can be presented in the dark using an ultraviolet light for illumination - a Super, Wow, NEAT demonstration. This non-toxic polymer is used for thickening cosmetics. Note: anhydrous alcohol, such as denatured alcohol, available in hardware stores, or acetone is needed for the dissolving process. Each demonstration requires only a small amount of polymer.

Additional Products

Instant Snow Polymer

When this granular white powder is added to water, it instantly expands to 40 times its original volume, producing a snow-like material.
Sodium Polyacrylate (Diaper Polymer)

The super-absorbent polymer found in disposable baby diapers. Also used in many "disappearing water" magic tricks.
Super Bouncing Ball Kits

Available in Class Kits of assorted shapes or all round. Refills also available.
Teaching Science with Toys Series - Grades K-9

Comprehensive instructions for lessons you can teach using toys that capture students' attention and imaginations.
