Wilesco steam engine with a blueish base plate that has been combined with a black boiler housing and silver-colored engine plate. The flywheel is painted black. The technology of this engine represents a combination of Wilesco types D20 and D16, enhanced by a number of technical refinements. The brass boiler, highly polished and nickel plated, has a capacity of 30.5". The condensed water is fed to a tank hidden behind the boiler house, causing the chimney to smoke realistically. The engine plate has now been additionally fitted with a dynamo to supply the streetlight at the rear, between the boiler and engine, with current. The streetlight is modeled on an industrial streetlight from the turn of the 20th century and shines on the flywheel during operation. Water drainage cock, spring safety valve, steam whistle with chain, hand wheel shutoff valve for steam, steam jet boiler, attractive piston rods of galvanized die cast metal.

Finely painted metal base plate 13.8" x 11.4"
Height, including smoke stack, 12.6"

Hi folks, I have had dozens of steam engines come through (& remain) in my shop, I bought this new from Educational Innovations for $320.00 total, it came in the usual time frame , I am pretty particular about my steam plants & I noticed this brand new D18 steam plant had the safety valve lug soldered in at a distinct angle, other than that (which I fixed) I am happy with this purchase. the owners manual is pretty much useless....especially when it comes to hooking up the light.
