Soother Ooze Tubes

  • Soother Ooze Tube - Small 5 inch
    Item #: SS-165SM
  • - +
Great viscosity demo for your science table.

Description

When turned upside down, this tube's colorful viscous liquid takes about ten minutes to slowly flow through a large opening in the sealed plastic container. Much can be observed: liquid flowing downward, bubbles (air) flowing upward, liquid sticking to the top and dropping as streamers, etc. Good viscosity demo for your science table. Colors may vary.

CAN YOUR STUDENTS EXPLAIN THIS? Cover the outside of a soother and start it rolling down an incline. It takes several minutes! Why?

Love Ooze tubes

These ooze tubes are great "calming jars" in our class room! Children love to lie on the rug and watch as it drips down. It's amazing that something like this can hold multiple children attention for 10 minutes- and then I want to turn it over and start again! I have both small and large- I highly recommend these!

I give the tube as gift to each of our grandchildren and tell them to observe in candle light or sunlight. I include an observation paper with your ideas on fluids and add the explaining observations of multiverses, collapse of universes into black holes, black holes, virtual particles, Hawking radiation, different dimensions, Vibrating strings of energy, entanglement, and space. We find it great to have two of them in the glow of candle light.

Soother ooze tube for Autistic kids
Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Mar 7, 2017
Soother ooze tubes are great for the classroom. They show density and that gases take up space. Kids also just love to mess with them. An unexpected use I found for the soother ooze tube was to help an autistic boy calm down when he becomes agitated. We mainstream mildly autistic kids at our school. They have an aid with them. At times these kids become agitated for various reasons. Certain things calm them back down. A soother ooze tube works really well for this. I gave a small soother ooze to an autistic student to keep with him through out the day. It helps calm and sooth him just by him watching it. I guess the name for this item is accurate.

The Ooze tubes are great. They're large, easy to see and watch, but my only complaint would be that we ordered them twice and asked for different colors the second time and instead got the most of the same colors again. The pink ones are nice, but they sent me more pink than any other color and its my least favorite. I also dont recommend the blue ones because even though they're a pretty color they are so dark it's almost impossible to see the bubble come up. It's hard to really enioy it.
