Since these items are more physics related than chemistry I don't really use them. I have them in my room where my college aged students come in a play with them before and after class (your never too old to play). Obviously, the trick to getting them to fly is to practice, practice, practice. Once you have the technique, it is easy to get them to fly. Think about how you can use them in your class before purchasing and if you do, be willing to practice.

Some seem to work better than others but overall, not very good product. The hand copters work very well.

Too small to see once released defeated lab purpose, but the 7th graders had fun playing with them.

The trick to get them to fly is to keep the "shaft" in line with your fingers, NOT at a right angle. Also, they can be easily flown left handed. Simply use the same exact holding position as with the right hand BUT-point them DOWN and snap, They fly as well upside dow as they do right side up.

These little copters are great! Years ago I saw another version of them that were thinner, but I've been looking for them ever since. These are more sturdily constructed than the ones I remember. By the way, the blades are angled for right-handed snaps only.

I teach an elective class about Flight and have several larger copters which fly nicely, but are hazardous in the classroom. I thought the snapcopters would be an excellent replacement to allow more kids to experiment at the same time. However, I cannot get them to actually fly, no matter how they are launched. I can't figure out if the angle of the blades is wrong or if the wings aren't big enough. This is the only product I've ever been disappointed with from EI. ...................................................................................................................................... ....................................**Educational Innovations Responds**.............................................................................................................................................................................. Lisa, it takes a little practice to fly these little copters, but we assure you, they will fly quite nicely.
