A great way for young students to do science at home!

Description

Now available in Spanish! (click here)

FREE Interactive Digital Lessons! Developed by STEM curriculum experts! Kid-friendly, interactive mini-lessons! Scaffolded learning for grades K-5!

There is simply no substitute for the kind of sensory learning your young scientists will experience in each box. And besides, what's more fun than sitting around your kitchen table doing science with your kids?!

Your kids might be whipping up a batch of gooey slime as they explore the world of polymers…

Then they'll be learning about air pressure and fluid dynamics as they make a ping-pong ball stay lodged in a funnel, even when turned upside down…

They'll delight in levitating magnets…
growing cave popcorn…
creating their own fossils…
painting beads with sunshine…
sorting ancient shark teeth…
creating an avalanche in a cup…
and much, much more.

They'll be having so much fun with these unique hands-on projects, they might not even realize that they're learning!

Your young scientist will receive a sturdy keepsake box with all the materials needed to perform five or more thrilling, engaging, sometimes disgusting, but always easy-to-understand experiments centered around the following topics:

Kit 1: Slime, Seaweed & Polymer Blobs: Who doesn't love goo? This kid-friendly kit introduces young scientists to the world of polymers. Includes everything you need to conduct six hands-on chemistry activities. You'll make a big cup of slime, concoct edible seaweed 'worms,' build your own non-Newtonian fluid with cornstarch, create a homemade version of Silly Putty, craft a colorful super bouncing ball, and more. Great for children ages 6-11. Includes free online how-to videos packed with great authentic science!

Kit 2: Caves, Crystals and Mineral Treasures: This kid-friendly kit includes everything you need to conduct five hands-on Earth Science activities. Your young scientist will perform a calcite fizz test, grow cave popcorn, create homemade toothpaste, re-create a granitic mineral mash up, and identify minerals the way geologists do, using the Mohs Scale. Great for children ages 6-11. Includes free online how-to videos packed with great authentic science!

Kit 3: Magnetic Field Fiesta: Explore magnets and magnetic fields with this kid-friendly, all-included kit! Young scientists will perform six hands-on activities: create their own compass, explore the magnetic properties of lodestone, build a tower of hex nuts that seems to stand on its own, create a trio of magnets that 'float,' construct a magnetic field viewing tray with iron filings, and make their own modified version of ferrofluid. All components are kid-safe. Great for children ages 6-11. Includes free online how-to videos packed with great authentic science!

Kit 4: The Chemistry of Magic: Sometimes science is downright magical - or so it would appear. This kid-friendly kit enables young scientists to perform six experiments that will amaze onlookers! Create a snow avalanche in a cup, concoct some disappearing ink, make wood 'fleas' dance with static electricity, paint with sunshine, cause 'bloody fingerprints' to appear and disappear, and more! All components are kid-safe. Great for children ages 6-11. Includes free online how-to videos packed with great authentic science!

Kit 5: Tabletop Fossil Safari: Six fun, hands-on activities for young fossil lovers! This kid-friendly kit allows young scientists to sort through dozens of marine fossils (including fossilized shark teeth!), make their own fossil casts from a sea urchin fossil, learn about mineralization with a dinosaur bone, study the intricacies of petrified wood, and make a rubbing of a fossil fish! A superb introduction to paleontology and the scientific method. Great for children ages 6-11. Includes free online how-to videos packed with great authentic science!

Kit 6: Bernoulli's Flight Basics: Learn about air pressure and Bernoulli's law with this unique kit. Six do-it-yourself activities help young scientists realize that air takes up space and creates pressure. Build a double loop flyer, a balsa wood glider, a paper helicopter, a vampire test tube and more. You'll even learn the secret to filling up a 9-foot Bernoulli Tube with just a few breaths of air! Great for children ages 6-11. Includes free online how-to videos packed with great authentic science!

Grades 3-5 Science Teacher

As a science teacher to elementary students, and faced with the challenge of distance teaching, I was overwhelmed with how to keep my students engaged virtually. Educational Innovations offered a perfect solution with their Home Science Lab kits. Without changing my science curriculum, I was able to continue teaching hands-on science with these kits. Each kit had weeks worth of lessons, video instruction, and almost everything students needed for the activity. The students loved them, the parents loved them, I loved them! Thank you, EI, for providing a resource to continue my style of teaching- hands-on, experiential, and fun!

Best science kit we've tried

My almost 5yo loved this! I read the instruction booklet to her and she was able to do most of the experiments herself. She loved them so much she wanted to do them over and over again. I appreciated that the booklet is written for kids but isn't gimicky: it gives the real scientific explanations. Wonderful!

My Little Scientists
Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Feb 21, 2018
Great Home kits for little scientists. Ordered 2 six month labs for my nephews. They have thus received month 1 and love the activities. Hoping lab kits 2-6 are just as enjoyable and educational. I'm give it 4 stars in lieu of 5 as I have only had one kit to review.

Gave a six month subscription to my nieces and they LOVE IT. There first one was slime. I also gave one to my granddaughter. Her first one was minerals. She loved the different rocks and that they included a rubber glove that actually fit her hand! I would definitely recommend this for gifts.

Perfect for Little Scientists!
Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon May 10, 2017
I received the first box - Slime, Seaweed and Polymer Blobs - as a gift for my 6 year old twins who LOVE science. The experiments are perfect for little scientists with supervision from a parent, and yet are engaging enough for kids of pretty much any age who are interested in science. My kids got a kick out of the cartoons in the booklet and the descriptions of the process. We spent some time reviewing WHAT was actually happening in the experiment, and going over some safety basics (always wear goggles, never put anything in your mouth unless you know it's not poisonous, etc). The best part of this box (versus similar subscriptions, which we also have) is that the people who put it together thought about things like adding artificial color to make the slime look like boogers, adding commentary on different ways in which you can impress your friends, including fun facts, etc. Overall, super fun!!!!

I purchased this subscription for my 8 year old granddaughter for her birthday. She has always enjoyed science, and this kit was perfect for her. After she completed the activities in the first kit, she just couldn't wait each month for the others to arrive! Thank you for creating such a well thought out and interesting kit for young kids who enjoy science!

This Kit Screams KID!
Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon May 18, 2016
From the fun cartoons on the box to the experiment names such as "Big Cup O' Boogers" this science kit screams kid. There are so many experiments included in each box and all the experiments were easy for my 11 year old son to complete on his own. I love that the instructions include not just how to complete the experiment, but why it works and even sometimes how the science is applied in the real world. These kits would not only be a great addition to any classroom or home school program, but are just fun to play with!

Tons of fun!

These experiments were tons of fun for everyone involved. I loved that my 3 boys - ages 11, 8, and 6 - were thoroughly enjoying themselves as well as learning! Trying to teach my kids and have fun at the same time can be hard. This science kit made both of those possible. It came with every item needed for hours of fun! My boys wanted to review the Home Science Lab. Here's what they said: "I loved every experiment I did. I especially loved making the boogers, they were so slimy!" -- Grant age 6 "My favorite experiment was making the worms. Tons of fun and so cool to watch!" -- Chase, age 8 "These science experiments were so cool! I can't wait to do them again!" -- Payton, age 11

Fun and Educational!

Both of my children (ages 5 and 7) love this product. They check the mail each day waiting for the next lab to arrive. When it does, they jump right into it (with a little help from mom and dad) together. It's fun, a great family activity, and educational, too. They both feel like scientists when they go through the activities and experiments. Thank you for creating such a great product and delivering it to our door each month!
