We bought these for our 6-year-old twin boys, who have been wanting to try chocolate covered ants for a while now. They LOVED them! It was so fun to watch them eat it with no fear and pure excitement. One liked the crickets and the other liked the insect larvae. The package came during a heat wave in Chicago, but the chocolate had not melted. Quick shipping, yummy bugs, what more could you want?

As a middle school science teacher, I am always looking for unique, relevant demonstrations and items to maintain a high level of student interest and involvement in General Science topics. E.I.'s asssortment of flavored edible insects do just that and are tasty too.

The chocolate covered insects were tasty. The chocolate had a minty flavor to it and you truly could barely tell that there were insects inside the chocolate covering.

great end to our lesson on insects

While learning about insects, my 6th grade science class was very intrigued by the section titled "insects as a food source for humans". I decided to order a few different samples for them to try. This one was surely the favorite!! These are great for someone who is a little unsure about the idea of eating bugs. As a vegetarian for 9 years and a VERY picky eater, I gave one a try and it was delicious!

Bugged by Storms!

Usually I love this company, and to be fair they did refund my money, BUT it was over a week between my order and their fulfillment. They did not tell me it would be a delay. I needed the bugs for a Valentines event, and they only got put into the mail on 2/13! I am just getting them today (2/21) over a week late. I would suggest better communication with you customers if you have problems, like the bad weather, that will keep you from offering your usually excellent service.

Owner Response: Jennifer, I checked into this issue, and it seems that the bugs were on backorder and shipped out when they came in. You absolutely should have been contacted to notify you that the product would not be available until the 12th. I do apologize for this oversight, and I'm sorry your bugs didn't arrive on time for your Valentine's event.

Choc covered insects

This was a hit with the kids (ages 7, 8, 11). They were excited and grossed out in equal measures but all of them tried one - and liked it! They were so proud of themselves and earned major bragging rights;-) In between the fun we were able to sneak in some lessons about nutrition and sustainability if insects as food. Great for patents and kids.
