This is the famous iodine clock reaction in an easy-to-use kit.

Description

Make two chemical solutions and mix them together. Wait a few seconds, then wow! It will suddenly change colors. This is the famous iodine clock reaction in an easy-to-use kit. Change the concentrations or temperature and change the delay for the color change. Do the clock reaction with Eco-foam. Learn about solutions and rates of reaction (kinetics). Contains starch solution. sodium iodate, sodium sulfite, citric acid, sodium thiosulfate, eco-foam, spoons, small scoops, cups, rack, and instructions. Ages 9+ with adult supervision.

The REGULAR KITS (singles) include enough materials for repeating each experiment two to three times. The larger CLASSROOM KITS contain five times the materials of the single kits, enough for a five STATION CLASSROOM SETUP that can be REPEATED APPROXIMATELY three TIMES.

Traditional Chemistry experiment made easy!

This set come with everything you need to have students perform the famous clock reaction! They will ohhhhh and ahhhh when they see what happens when the chemicals are mixed together. I was able to use this kit for 2 weeks with my Chemistry classes. (30 students total working in pairs - and I have leftovers) Note that the Fascinating Oscillating Reaction Kit by the same company includes the clock reaction - but done with a different chem mix. I used this kit first and them moved to that kit for 2 weeks - giving us a 4 week set of labs that the students enjoyed and we easy for me to set up!
