Chemical Reactions: Substances react chemically in characteristic ways that may results in splashes, gas releases or other hazards to the eyes.
Protection to the eyes is critical in lab settings. Students are encouraged to wear safety glasses during Physical, Life, Earth, and Space Sciences. Always consult the Material Safety Data Sheet, especially Section 8: Exposure Control and Personal Safety, before starting any lab.
These Safety Glasses meet or exceed 287.1 2003 ANSI Standards. All lenses are polycarbonate which absorbs 99.9% UV A and B light. Only safety Goggles give the impact and splash protection required for working with chemicals. Safety Glasses give good impact protection.
