Description

With colorful chenille stems, wiggly eyes, and a toothbrush head body, our ScooterBots are as adorable as they are educational. What makes them go? A battery-powered pulsating motor causes the individual bristles (or legs) to vibrate and shimmy, sending the bot scooting across any flat surface. Dozens of variables are possible. What happens if you trim or bend the bristles? Connect several bots together? Add stabilizing wire legs? A memorable way to teach principles of engineering and electric circuitry. Kit contains all you need to create these mini-marvels, including instructions.

The parts are small so hard to hold them or put them down. There should be extra tape which dries out if a kid makes mistake. But a cool robot circuit project.

Fun once they get past some frustration

There are slight issues with the intricacy of the product ( often necessary to strip the ends of the wires for a better connection, unwieldy to have to tape and un-tape the wire to the battery to start and stop the bot) but as a whole it is very satisfying for students once those problems are solved.

Kids love them WHEN THEY WORK. Getting the wires to stay in contact with the battery is hard and you may need a wire stripper for 24 gauge wire. for 4th grade and up.

I bought these as part of a "Toys" class that I ran. These were sooo fun. Everybody had a great time assembling them and playing with them - both in class and at home.

Kids love them

I have used these in science class as well as in STEM club. Kids love them. Putting them together teaches a bit about circuitry while trying to make the bot go straight, go up an incline and do on really challenges kids to think and to innovate.

Scooter Bots

My 5th and 6th graders found these quite difficult to get the circuits completed on a continuous basis. The bottom wire got embedded in the tape and did not touch the battery anymore. They were quite frustrated - which can be a good thing if you figure out how to make it work. They found the small size hard to manage. The eyes did not stay on.

I bought these to check them out prior to purchasing lots for a class. Like that they come in a kit, however the motor wires are not stripped. They need to be stripped and tinned prior to using.

These little guys are so cute! The kids just loved experimenting with all the different ways they could change the bots to move in different directions. Lots of great learning went on in my classroom!
