Description

These borosilicate beaker mugs are super for chemical demonstrations! Students can see liquids being poured from one container to another without the demonstrator's hand getting in the way. The mugs also make the handling of hot and corrosive liquids safer.

Great for Iced Tea, Beer, Lemonade, etc. Note: When used as beverage containers in the lunch room, the science teacher is instantly identified!

I ordered two originally. I use it every single a.m. It's great because it holds basically 2 cups worth of coffee so I don't have to get up for a refill! Sturdy & a conversation piece! - just ordered 2 more for gifts.

Volumes on beaker are not correct
Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Mar 6, 2015
I bot a beaker mug because it measured the amount of liquid in it. Not so. I should've read the small print -"Approximate Volumes" - but you can't read it unless you enlarge the image on the webpage, which I didn't do. Also I'd imagined it'd be more attractive than it actually is. Yes, it is a bit thin, making it a bit delicate.

Perhaps bulk buy could have greater discount. Postage matched cost of item :(

Owner Response: Yes, unfortunately shipping to the UK can be rather costly. We are always looking for less expensive shipping methods, but there are not a lot of good options.

Love my mug!
Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Jun 15, 2014
My students think it's hilarious to see me drinking coffee out of a beaker. It is very well made. My only draw back is the thickness of the glassware. It is a bit thin so you have to be a bit delicate with it.

Disappointed
Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Dec 29, 2012
Even the large size was lightweight, didn't seem sturdy, and didn't look much like a chemistry beaker (more like a clear measuring cup). Would not recommend.

Beaker Mugs

I like the beaker mugs for their 'novelty'. And it makes an interesting Graduation gift that students will remember. They are light weight enough to not be too heavy when a beverage is in them and still sturdy enough for use.

awesome geeky mug
Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Review star icon Jun 3, 2012
This mug is so cool that one of my co-workers keeps threatening to steal it! The glass is thinner than I expected (thinner than an actual beaker) and I would have liked for it to be thicker, but it does not negatively affect the product in any way. I fully expect it to feed my caffeine addiction for a long time to come.

As the advertising says, the mugs are great for demonstrating, it has a good handle for angled pouring. I also have a few around for holding pencils, thermometers AND my tea! Great fun.

I just recently broke one of the two mugs I had. I do not know how I broke it, but I realized that I had purchased them at a CAST conference in 1998. Since I use them frequently, I feel like I got a bargain when purchased. I just ordered some more.
