A great tool to teach periodicity!

Description

A great tool to teach periodicity! Each large element card contains a beautiful, high quality photograph on one side, with its name, symbol, atomic weight, and atomic number. The reverse side cleverly shows a density bar on the left, phase change bars on the right, and electronic structure lines on the bottom. By stacking a handful of elements, and sliding the deck slightly, students can see how density, melting point, boiling points, and electronic configuration trend by the automatically created bar graph. One can even lay out the cards in a 2.3 m (7.5 ft) wide periodic table. The activities are endless! 118 square element cards 12.7 cm (5.0 in.), 900 g (2 lbs).

These are great cards but the name, picture, abbreviation, and number are all on the front so we can't use them as flash cards....

I was looking for "trading cards" for my son who is a chemist and ran across these from someone's facebook post. They are simply perfect, and very beautiful. I wanted something that looked really classy, that he could have on his desk at work, and these fit the bill.

Hands on elements!

Great way to create your own wall hanging PT. I have made holes on each card and place them on a hook for each card. The kids not only see a hanging PT on the wall, but can remove cards individually, in groups and investigate properties OR find the misplaced element within a group. Fantastically visual way to learn / review PT.
