The W-Tube Puzzle

 Challenge
your students to replicate the picture shown using only water, sugar,
food coloring, three small cups, a Beral pipette and only two caps. This is easier said than done! Teacher instructions and student sheets are included. Instructions include ten challenges, from the simple to the complex. This is
a great hands-on way to teach solution density, air pressure and
how to plan an experiment. Super for a science table or group work!

U-Tube Challenge

 Start
each class with a U-Tube challenge. What happens when water is poured
into the left tube? Change the tube configuration and ask the same
question. Wow, some students have major misconceptions! Ask students to
suggest ways for the liquids to be at different levels. More than a
dozen challenge questions are suggested. This product was designed and used to develop
critical thinking skills for students in Middle School through Advanced Placement science.

Self-Inflating Balloons

 Squeeze
a flat colored balloon and watch it self-inflate! Challenge students to
offer an explanation. Afterwards have them observe the clear, colorless
balloon self-inflate. Ask your students to construct their own
self-inflating balloon using water and baking powder, or vinegar and
baking soda! Four self-inflating Mylar balloons are included: two
