Silicon Lumps ~250 g (~1/2 lb)
Silicon is amazing! It looks like a metal, but is a poor conductor of electricity. It never tarnishes. Making up 25.7% of the earth's crust by mass, it is the second most abundant element (oxygen being the most abundant). With a density of 2.33 g/cm3, it makes a great specimen for measurement or as a conversation piece in the classroom. Yes, this is the same stuff they make computer chips from... something your students are sure to find fascinating! 115 g (1/4 lb). 99% pure silicon.

Ultra Pure Silicon - While Supplies Last!
These extremely shiny silicon pieces look like metal, but do not conduct electricity. Great for demonstrating the properties of a metalloid in the classroom! 57 g (1/8 lb). 99.999% pure silicon. Hardness = 7.
