Larger View
Amber is the term used for fossilized tree sap, also known as resin, which has undergone molecular polymerization over many thousands of years. It is estimated to be between 30 and 90 million years old. These beautiful amber samples, ranging from 1.5 to 2+ cm, each have at least one small insect trapped inside. Samples originate from Russia and the Dominican Republic. Each sample comes in a clear plastic case with a magnifying lens in the lid, to allow for excellent viewing of the organism inside. The specimen can be removed for examination under a microscope. Cases measure 2.5 cm square by 2.3 cm high. (1"x1"x7/8")
