Authentic meteorites from a number of significant falls.
Nantan Meteorite Fragment
To the best of our knowledge, understanding and research, these meteorites are totally authentic and are of meteoric origin. How might you test these samples for authenticity? Have your students design a test!

The Earth is constantly being bombarded by objects from outer space. Most burn upon entry and are seen as "falling stars" or "shooting stars". Some of these short flashes seen in the night sky are caused by particles no larger than a grain of sand. Some are much larger. A few survive and are found on Earth. All of our specimens include the date of the fall/find, the location, and name. They are beautifully mounted in 8 x 11 cm (3.25 x 4.25 inch) Riker Mount specimen boxes that can be open easily to more closely examine the meteorites. Because these are natural products and in relatively limited supply, specimens will vary slightly in size, weight and color. Availability subject to change.
