These beautiful nuggets of native copper were found in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. They have been cleaned briefly using a grinding mill. One of the few elements found free in nature, the largest was discovered in 1857, weighting 520 tons. These malleable copper nuggets are so pure that in the past, similar pieces were shaped into pots without the usual smelting process – they were simply pounded into a shape.Sorry, small-sized nuggets no longer available.
