Shipping Information
This rigid cylinder filled with air can be evacuated, then used to obtain the molecular mass of a gas.
Larger View
This rigid cylinder filled with air can be evacuated using the included syringe pump. The fittings allow the evacuated cylinder to be filled with various gases. If the cylinder is weighed on a centigram balance before and after each filling, then the molecular mass of a gas can be obtained. Typical results include 0.13 g Helium; .99 g air; 1.50 g Carbon Dioxide. Instructions included.
Gas Solubility Demonstration ("The Baby Bottle Experiment")
Watch the nipple expand as the gas comes out of solution. Amazing to see! Great for teaching Henry’s Law of Partial Pressures.
Magdeburg Vacuum Plates with pump
When a simple hand pump is used to evacuate the Magdeburg plates, about 140 pounds of force are needed to separate them.
Microscale Vacuum Apparatus
Students can safely produce a vacuum in a small bell jar right at their lab stations.
Two Balloon Surprise
What will happen when a large balloon filled with air is connected to a smaller balloon filled with half as much air?
