These 1" long, 1/4" thick clear, colorless spikes are made from a super-absorbent, polyacrylamide polymer similar to our Water Gel Crystals. When placed in water they expand to several inches with a corresponding gain in mass as they absorb water. They are great for quantitative measuring experiments. Water Gel Spikes are made from a cross-linked polymer and stand up to student use. (10 spikes per package.)

Instant Snow Polymer

When this granular white powder is added to water, it instantly expands to 40 times its original volume, producing a snow-like material.

Sodium Polyacrylate (Diaper Polymer)

The super-absorbent polymer found in disposable baby diapers. Also used in many "disappearing water" magic tricks.

Water Gel Animals
