How can we comprehend the great pressure of the Earth's atmosphere? Our Atmospheric Pressure Bar makes this possible.
Understanding Pressure Kit
How can we comprehend the great pressure of the Earth's atmosphere? Our Atmospheric Pressure Bar makes this possible. With a weight of just over 10 Newtons, and with a square centimeter cross section, it exerts pressure on your hand equal to a normal day's atmospheric pressure at sea level (1 atm). Three pads included can spread the force over larger areas, helping students distinguish between force and pressure. Expressed in units besides one atmosphere, this bar exerts 101.3 kiloPascals or 10.13N/cm2 , 760 torr, 1013 millibars, and 1.013 bars of pressure. Yes, this "bar" exerts exactly one bar (a metric unit) of pressure. Samples illustrating 1 millibar, 1 torr, and 1 Pascal are included, as well as instructions and questions.
